Background of the Yayasan Budi Ihsan Malaysia (YBIM)

Yayasan Budi Ihsan Malaysia (YBIM) is an adaptation of the waqaf struggle exemplified by Saidina Uthman Bin Affan and Saidina Abdul Rahman Bin Auf who originally only bought wells for water facilities for Muslims, eventually becoming a waqaf bank. An idea that started small, eventually became a huge benefit to all Muslims until now. The history of the establishment of this Foundation began with the efforts carried out by YBIM Chairman, Dato Sr Hj Rosli Atan who helped the poor and asnaf who needed help individually. However, over time, he felt that the effort was insufficient and wanted to contribute on a larger scale so that more asnaf groups would benefit. YBIM was successfully realized after its establishment was approved on 15th October 2018 by the Malaysian Companies Commission and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs on 27th September 2019 with a capital of RM1 million. YBIM was established with the same objective as other charitable organizations but different in terms of approach, which is to care for the poor and the families of asnaf who are ‘dropped out’ regardless of race, religion and skin color. With a vision towards producing a prosperous and sustainable Ummah, the establishment of the Foundation is not to take over the role played by the government but to complement each other so that the asnaf and the poor can live a better and perfect basic life.

In line with the noble efforts of its establishment, YBIM’s mission is to provide assistance to the asnaf group in various aspects, especially to the asnaf group who have dropped out and are marginalized through the following programs:
